Ford Mustang Shelby GT Convertible
The 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT is taking the open-air ride to the next level. The groundbreaking model is adding a convertible option as well as a striking new color combination of Vista Blue with Silver stripes. Produced in limited quantity, the Mustang Shelby GT is sure to offer a treat for collectors.
Starting in August 2007, the newly redesigned Mustang Shelby GT convertibles and coupes will be available at select Ford dealers. Fans of the model got a preview of the car at the annual Mid-America Ford Performance and Shelby Meet in Tulsa, Okla.
Carroll Shelby, the creator of the Shelby GT, had some encouraging words to say about the car: "The Shelby GT was engineered for people that put performance first. Working with Ford Racing, we created this Shelby to be an everyday driver that's tuned for the track. Those who value a balanced package will appreciate it."
In 2007, the much sought-after Shelby GT was only available in two colors, Performance White or Black. Now, the 2008 model has been revamped with the option of a convertible and its new signature color combination.
Robert Parker, Ford Division Car Marketing Manager, commented on the new development: "The Mustang convertible is the number one selling convertible in the U.S., so we wanted to continue offering consumers what they want. And with the Ford Mustang Shelby GT convertible, we believe we've achieved that goal."
