Ford iosis X Concept

Ford of Europe's Design team has unveiled their interpretation of the company's distinctive "kinetic design" form language with a crossover concept car - the iosis X. Making its debut at the 2006 Paris Motor Show, the iosis X is a five-door sports-crossover that carries the "energy in motion" philosophy even further, showing how Ford cars of the future will look. Martin Smith, Ford of Europe's Executive Design Director, explains that the name is meant to link to the "kinetic design" concept car lineage while the letter "X" signals the vehicle's crossover capabilities. John Fleming, President and CEO of Ford of Europe, clarifies that the concept car is meant to prepare the public for the introduction of a future Ford of Europe niche model. This is in response to speculation of Ford entering a market for compact crossover or Sport Utility vehicles. And even though Fordiosis X is a concept, it clearly demonstrates Ford's kinetic design form language and detailing applied to a rugged and exciting niche vehicle.
