Ford iosis MAX Concept

At the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, Ford is unveiling the third concept car from its iosis 'kinetic design' series. The Ford iosis MAX Concept is a concept study for the next Ford compact multi-activity vehicle (MAV) and a peek into the design direction that Martin Smith and his team have adopted for the next generation of Ford's C-car family. The Ford iosis MAX Concept showcases a striking exterior and interior design, created using an innovative interpretation of Ford's kinetic design language. It is a dynamic yet practical MAV, and also displays new levels of environmental performance, efficiency, and flexibility, in particular thanks to its new door concepts, lightweight materials, advanced aerodynamics, and a preview of Europeans' take on Ford's soon-to-be-introduced global EcoBoost engine. Paired with this powerful yet fuel-efficient motor is Ford's newly-introduced PowerShift transmission, plus an Auto-Start-Stop system which Ford plans to produce in 2010. According to Martin Smith, Ford of Europe's Executive Design Director, the Ford iosis MAX Concept reveals the next level of kinetic design and provides many cost- and environment-saving petrol engine technologies. He adds that the designers went further than their previous works on the two iosis concepts and used the MAV format to express the kinetic design language. The Ford iosis MAX Concept proves that cars of the compact MAV class can show off dynamic styling without neglecting practicality nor efficiency, an attribute that the revolutionary S-MAX has already established.
