Ford iosis X Concept

The Ford of Europe Design team has taken the company's groundbreaking 'kinetic design' language and created a great new crossover concept - the iosis X. This car will make its first public appearance at the 2006 Paris Motor Show. "The term iosis X has become a direct link to the 'kinetic design' cars first introduced last year," said Martin Smith, Ford of Europe's Executive Design Director. "Visually, they are quite connected, with the 'X' highlighting its crossover potential." "The iosis X is a five-door sports-crossover that shows how the 'energy in motion' philosophy can be applied to a distinct market," Smith added. "This presents a glimpse into the future of Ford vehicles." The concept of the iosis X is to get people ready for a future Ford of Europe niche model. "Rumors have circulated about Ford creating a crossover or SUV," shared John Fleming, President and CEO of Ford of Europe. "Our iosis X is meant to demonstrate that we will announce the new model in approximately eighteen months, with its undeniable style and uniqueness." The iosis X is a concept car and its design should not be mistaken for the eventual production model. It was made to explore how Ford's kinetic design look and elements can be incorporated into a niche vehicle in an adventurous way.
