GM EN-V Concept

General Motors and its partner, Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp. Group (SAIC), have a shared vision to introduce a radical change in personal urban transportation that helps address the growing need for transportation in cities. Among the most promising solutions is the Electric Networked-Vehicle, or EN-V. This two-seat electric vehicle is designed to tackle issues such as traffic congestion, parking availability, air quality and affordability. Three EN-V models, named Jiao (Pride), Miao (Magic) and Xiao (Laugh), were introduced in Shanghai and will be showcased from May 1 to October 31 at the SAIC-GM Pavilion at World Expo 2010 Shanghai. The concepts emphasize the enjoyable nature of future transportation and are expected to become major solutions for urban mobility. "EN-V reinvents the automobile by creating a new vehicle design with electrification and connectivity, enabling drivers to be petrol- and emission-free, as well as congestion- and accident-free," said Kevin Wale, President and Managing Director of the GM China Group. "It also makes driving more stylish and fun than ever before."
