Hennessey Performance Engineering is an American tuning company, which modifies sports and super cars of such brands as Ferrari, Porsche, McLaren, Chevrolet, Dodge, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, Nissan, Mustang, Cadillac, Lotus, Jeep, Ford, BMW, Bentley, Chrysler, GMC, Lincoln and Lexus. Hennessey was founded in 1991 by John Hennessey as the company focused primarily on the modification of mechanical components and building of high-powered cars. In addition, Hennessey also tunes sports utility vehicles like Ford Raptor and Jeep Cherokees as well as muscle cars of the Dodge brand and luxury cars like Bentley. The most famous models, tuned by the company, are Hennessey Venom GT, Hennessey Venom F5, VelociRaptor SUV and Hennessey CTS-V.
In 2008, Hennessey Performance Engineering created the Tuner School, which aims at teaching the tuner technicians of the high performance cars. In 2014, its Venom GT model set the world record by reaching the speed of 270.49 mph (435.31 km/h).
