Holden Astra CD 5door

The Holden Astra is a compact car originally released in Australia and New Zealand by General Motors between 1984 and 1989. Models sold during this period featured a rebadged Nissan Pulsar chassis, giving then a Pulsar-like grille with a Holden lion badge. The LB and LC series Astras were affectionately known as "Aussie Pulse" in the local market. In 1987, the Astra experienced a model change to the LD series. However, by 1989 Holden decided to replace the Astra with a rebadged Toyota Corolla, which came to be known as the Nova. Fast forward several years to 1995, and the Holden Astra name was revived in New Zealand on imported versions of the Opel Astra F. The same holds true for Australia, which began importing the model in 1996 as part of their TR series. The TS Astra series, released in 2002, was based on the Opel Astra G range. It featured variations such as a Coupé by Bertone, as well as a convertible model. The Astra was also offered in wagon form in New Zealand, though this was not the case in Australia. In 2004, the AH Astra (based on the Opel Astra H) was released as a five-door model in Australia. This car was sold alongside the Astra Classic - an Astra G which was constructed in Poland. This was replaced by the Holden-badged Daewoo Lacetti, known as the Holden Viva, in late 2005. The Astra Wagon made its debut in Australia in August 2005, but not in New Zealand. Diesel variants of the Astra were released in June 2006, and the engine came with two options: a 6-speed manual model with 110 kW 1.9 litre engine, and a 6-speed automatic version with an 88 kW version of the same engine.
