Holden has unveiled its all-new Commodore range, the first new design in 10 years and the first $1 billion car development program for Australia in almost 60 years of Holden vehicle production. With totally redesigned or upgraded interiors, exteriors, and major mechanical features, the 2006 VE Commodore is safer, packed with more technology, and comes with many more features and value than ever before. Holden has been planning and developing the new Commodore for over six years, and has two decades of experience producing this car.
Commodore design is enhanced by an extended wheelbase, creating a powerful European-inspired look on the road. Holden unveiled the VE Commodore at an event in Melbourne with SS model and Calais as their sports performance and prestige leaders respectively, and the WM series Statesman and Caprice models, exports cars last year, were also shown. This launch marks 75 years since Holden first became part of General Motors company and 150 years since the Holden’s saddle-smith business opened in Adelaide.
