Holden VE Commodore SS-V
Holden recently presented the all-new Commodore range of cars, noted for its track record of being the top selling car in Australia over the last 10 years. The 2006 VE Commodore model marks Holden's noteworthy $1 billion investment in car production. Interior, exterior, and major components have been thoroughly redesigned and reassessed to provide more safety, technology, features, and overall value. This is also the first time Holden has gone through a generational change since their multiple award-winning VT Commodore launched in 1997.
For almost 60 years, Holden has produced 2.4 million Commodores for sale not only in Australia, but to other export markets as well. This year, the SS-iteration of the Commodore, as well as the Calais, were unveiled at an event in Melbourne, alongside Holden's Statesman and Caprice models. The Commodore showcases a strong European look with its improved wheelbase that brings the wheels closer to the car's corners.
This is an important milestone for Holden as it marks 75 years of its presence in General Motors, and 150 years since the original Holden saddlery business, which is now known today as GM Holden, first opened shop in Adelaide.
