Holden VY Commodore Acclaim

The Holden VY Commodore was produced between September 2002 and August 2004. During that time a Series II was released in August 2003. This model was largely more advanced than its predecessors in many aspects, delivering improved performance, ride, handling, and safety features. Structurally, the body, powertrain, and chassis dynamics have been drastically enhanced. The VY Holden Commodore was available in the following models: Executive, Acclaim, Berlina, Calais, S, SV8, and SS. Those models were accessible as either a sedan or a wagon, save for the Calais, which was only available as a sedan. The exterior of the VY Commodore was completely redesigned with a new front grille and headlights, and taillights. The interior had been similarly improved with a new instrument panel, steering wheel, centre console, transmission shifter, handbrake, and a mobile phone power outlet beneath the centre console. The instrument cluster now includes a multi-function digital display providing drivers with radio station display, gear selected indicator, trip computer, service reminders, and a help facility. What's more, some models now come with "twilight sentinel" automatic headlamp control, headlamps off programmable time delay, high feature Blaupunkt audio systems, road-speed sensitive intermittent wipers, and passenger airbags.
