Japan
The models released in Japan on 4 September 1997 were narrower than their previous counterparts, with the exception of the Euro R and wagon, which were classified as "mid-sized". The Japanese market also got a nearly identical sister car, the Honda Torneo, to replace the Honda Ascot and the Honda Rafaga. While the Accord remained at Honda Clio dealerships, the Torneo was sold at Honda Verno and Honda Primo. This generation was also badge engineered and sold as the Isuzu Aska. In order to comply with lower tax classifications, Honda Clio was rebranded as a luxury car dealership featuring the Honda Legend and Honda Inspire. As a result, the Accord station wagon remained in the Japanese market. All trims offered in Japan featured Honda's innovative telematics service, Internavi.Decorate your life with a classic!
