Honda Accord Coupe

The 2003 Honda Accord saw a major redesign with two different cars coexisting under the same name. The Accord designed for the US and Asia was based on the JDM Honda Inspire, while the smaller version for Japan and Europe was released in the US as the Acura TSX. This larger Accord include features such as chrome interior accents and higher grade materials. Mechanically, the 4-cylinder variant had a K-series engine and the 6-cylinder model featured the J-series V6 engine from the sixth-generation Accord, but its intake runners, exhaust, and headers increased its horsepower by 40. A 5-speed automatic transmission was also new for 2003. In addition, Honda released the Accord Coupe in the US with a 6-speed manual transmission from the Acura CL and a 4-cylinder model meeting California's Super Ultra Low Emission standards. The 2003 Accord was the first production car to feature Honda's GPS-assisted Navigation system. The first 2003 Accord rolled off the Marysville, OH assembly line on September 26, 2002.
