Honda Accord Coupe Concept

The Accord Coupe Concept from Honda features a bold new look and incorporates many technical advances aimed at enhancing its safety, fuel efficiency and performance. It made its debut at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit - the first time an Accord concept vehicle has been showcased at a major auto show. The Accord Coupe Concept's styling offers a powerful stance with its long hood and fastback roofline, along with a six-sided grille and projector headlamps that are set into the fronts fenders. Quad exhaust outlets integrated into the rear diffuser complete its aggressive, performance-oriented look. "The Accord Coupe Concept signifies the styling direction of this eighth-generation Accord model," said John Mendel, senior vice president of American Honda. "Going forward, it will be the target of excellence for the midsize segment, setting a benchmark for safety, efficiency, performance, refinement and style." The V6 engine is set to be more powerful and have lower emissions, enabled by Honda's next-generation Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) technology. Honda's Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) rating is currently the highest of any full line manufacturer*, with a score of 29.2 miles per gallon - well above the industry average of 25.3 miles per gallon.
