Honda Accord Sedan 2.4T [EU]

The Honda Accord Sedan 2.4T [EU] was the seventh-generation Accord, produced between 2002 and 2007 for both the European and Japanese markets. This particular model was a mid-sized sedan and wagon, the latter of which was previously not available on the European version of the Accord. Besides the wagon, this new generation of Accord also featured the first Honda-built diesel engine option and was designed to be a more competitive model in the European market. Meanwhile, for the Japanese Accord, it was merged with the Torneo in order to more strongly rival other Japanese sport sedans of the time, such as the Mazda Atenza and Subaru Legacy. A larger variant of the North American Accord was also sold in Japan as a Honda Inspire to compete in the entry-level luxury sedan class. In comparison to the previous models, the wheelbase and outside dimensions of the Honda Accord Sedan 2.4T [EU] experienced slight growths, causing the vehicle to fall out of the size 5 tax band in Japan. In certain markets, the JDM Accord was even renamed the Accord Euro to differentiate it from the North American version, with success - over 45,000 sedans were sold between 2003 and 2008 in Australia alone. The JDM Accord was also exported to North America and Canada, where it is sold as the Acura TSX. Upon its release, this car competed with other popular European models such as the Opel/Vauxhall Vectra, Ford Mondeo, Volkswagen Passat, Mazda 6 and Toyota Avensis.
