Honda CR-V

The Honda CR-V is a practical compact crossover SUV that has been produced since 1996. It was designed based on the Honda Civic to meet the growing demand for a sport-utility vehicle. Though the official meaning of the abbreviation "CR-V" varies by market, the most referenced explanation is "Compact Recreational Vehicle". Two wheel drive and all wheel drive options are available globally. Honda manufactures CR-Vs both domestically and abroad, and in North America they are produced in Ohio. This SUV is larger than the Element but smaller than the Pilot. Second generation The second generation CR-V, released in 2001, was built on the basis of the 7th generation Honda Civic platform and was propelled by the K24 engine, rated at 160 horsepower and 220 foot-lbs of torque. Thanks to the engine's i-VTEC system, the additional power did not come at the expense of fuel economy. This generation of the CR-V boasted improved torsional rigidity, a MacPherson strut suspension setup, and a double wishbone reactive-link rear suspension, as well as increased cargo capacity. It was praised among motorists and won "Best Small SUV" by Car and Driver magazine in 2002 and 2003. A few minor changes were made in generations between 2002 and 2004.
