Honda CRV EX
The second generation Honda CR-V was completely redesigned from the ground up, incorporating the 7th generation Civic platform and K24 engine. With a power increase of 160 hp (119 kW) and 162 ft·lbf (220 N·m) of torque, the new CR-V maintained its fuel-efficient nature thanks to the engine's i-VTEC system. The chassis was reinforced to add greater torsional and bending rigidity, and the suspension setup included front toe control link MacPherson struts and a rear reactive-link double wishbone, allowing for a spacious 72 ft³ (2 m³) cargo capacity. As a result, this second generation car made Car and Driver magazine's Best Small SUV list in 2002 and 2003. Outside North America, it was available in both 'low spec' and 'high spec' variants, featuring body-coloured bumpers and fittings, as well as the ability to open the swinging door without opening first the glass hatch. During the 2005 mid-model refresh, the CR-V received 16 inch wheels, changed taillights, elongated rear reflectors, and 2 horizontal grill bars instead of one; to top it off, separate low and high beams were added with dedicated bulbs.
