Honda Civic Coupe 1995 posters

Honda Civic Coupe

The Honda Civic Coupe was introduced in 1993 as a two-door body style option. The trims available in the United States included the DX (EJ2), EX, and EX-S (EJ1). In Canada, the trims available were the DX, DX "Special Edition" (EJ2), and Si (EJ1). This left-hand drive version was also exported to other countries, such as Japan and Europe. To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Honda Primo dealer network in Japan, a limited edition was released in 1994. The fifth generation of the Honda Civic was the first to feature an increased wheelbase of 257 cm (101.3 inches) for three-door hatchback models and 262 cm (103.2 inches) for four-doors sedan types. This was larger than its predecessor and featured a more aerodynamic body. Compared to the previous generation, the cowl was raised, allowing for more suspension travel, and the ride became softer than before, though at the expense of handling precision. Vehicles fitted with the 1.6 L SOHC VTEC 125 PS (92 kW; 123hp) engine, such as the Si hatchback and EX coupe models found in the U.S., were especially popular. In South Africa, a unique model with the B18B3 from the Acura Integra RS was made to fill the gap left by the absence of the DOHC B16A VTEC engine. At its introduction, it won the Car of the Year Japan Award for the second time. This generation of Civic used lightweight materials to achieve fuel efficiency.
