Honda Civic Coupe

The seventh generation Honda Civic was produced from 2000 to 2005 and released as a 2001 model. Compared to its predecessor, it retained similar exterior dimensions and increased interior space, making it a compact car. The model featured a flat rear floor and a MacPherson strut suspension system. Upon its release in 2000, the Honda Civic won the Car of the Year Japan Award for a record fourth time, and the Japan Automotive Researchers' and Journalists' Conference Car of the Year award in 2001. It was powered by a 115 hp (86 kW) engine, with exceptions of the EX and Si models which had 127 hp (95 kW). Additionally, North America saw the engine size increased to 1.7 liters. In 2003, the Civic was given new tail lights and for 2004, the Civic had a facelift with new headlights, bumper, and grille, and side skirts. In 2005, the U.S Honda introduced the specialty LX or EX model. Its hybrid version, released in 2002, combined a 1.3 L I4 gasoline engine and auxiliary electric motors for a total of 93 hp. Batteries powering the electric motors were charged by regenerative braking, giving it a fuel efficiency of 46 mpg city / 51 mpg highway with the manual transmission.
