Honda Civic Hatchback

The fifth generation of the Honda Civic made its debut on September 9, 1991 in Japan. It was bigger than the previous version and had a more aerodynamic body with a wheelbase of 257 cm (101.3 inches) for the three-door hatchback and 262 cm (103.2 inches) for the four-door sedan. The wagon was not available to overseas markets, but the previous generation station wagon ("Shuttle") was still on sale in Japan and Europe. This generation of Civic was crafted out of lightweight materials, resulting in a fuel-efficient and economic car. Compared to the previous models, the suspension was raised, providing a softer ride at the expense of a less responsive drive. The 1.6 L SOHC VTEC 125 PS (92 kW; 123 hp) engine, like the Si hatchback and EX coupe in the US, quickly gained popularity in the 1.6 L inline four-segment. South Africa was introduced to a one-of-a-kind model with the B18B3 from the Acura Integra RS to fill the gap left from the lack of the DOHC B16A VTEC engine. Coupe The USA introduced the two-door coupe body style in 1993, offering the DX (EJ2), EX, and EX-S (EJ1), while Canada had the DX, DX "Special Edition" (EJ2), and Si (EJ1). The coupe was built in the US and Canada and was exported to Japan and Europe. A limited edition of left-hand drive versions of the Civic Coupe were released in Japan and imported from the US in 1994 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Honda Primo dealer network.
