Honda Civic Sedan 1985 posters

Honda Civic Sedan

The third generation Honda Civic is an automobile that was produced from 1983 to 1987. It was showcased in September 1983 for the 1984 model year and came with a wheelbase of 93.7 inches (hatchback) or 96.5 inches (sedan). The different bodies shared common foundations, like the independent front control arms with torsion bar springs and a semi-independent rear beam with coil springs. However, body panels were mostly dissimilar between models. The Honda Quint Integra, available as both three- and five-door fastbacks, also saw a transformation from its five-door hatchback predecessor. It was marketed in Japan through Honda Verno dealership alongside the CR-X. The Civic was exclusive to Honda Primo, alongside Honda's kei cars alongside superminis such as the Honda City. The sedan and hatchback shared an identical dashboard, while the CRX and wagons had their own. The hatchback adopted a flatter roof over the rear seats, drawing inspiration from a bodystyle known as shooting-brake in Europe, blurring the difference between hatchbacks and shooting-brakes. This design was also used on the Honda Accord Aerodeck, Honda Today, and Honda City. The only three-door hatchback with a fastback, sloping rear hatch was the CR-X, with a body that demonstrated the performance image often associated with products from Honda Verno. In Europe, the sedan model was also offered as the Rover 213/216, and marketed in Japan as the Honda Ballade. The sedan and hatchback models were also available in Indonesia where it was known as the Civic "Wonder".
