Honda Civic Si 2002 posters

Honda Civic Si

The seventh generation Honda Civic was manufactured from 2000 to 2005. Despite having similar dimensions to its predecessor, this generation of Civic increased in interior space, resulting in a compact car size. An improved flat rear floor allowed for increased comfort to rear seat passengers. The double wishbone suspension which had been featured in the fourth to sixth generations was replaced by a MacPherson strut. At launch, the Civic won the Car of the Year Japan Award in 2000 and also won Japan Automotive Researchers' and Journalists' Conference Car of the Year in 2001. It featured a 115 hp (86 kW) engine for all Civics, except the EX and Si, which had a 127 hp (95 kW) engine. North American models had 1.7 liters engine stroked from its predecessor, while engines of a smaller capacity were used for the rest of the world. Towards the end of its production, the Civic underwent a facelift, with new headlights, bumper, and grille, as well as side skirts. The U.S. Honda also introduced the Special Edition, with LX or EX options. In 2002, the hybrid version of the Civic was available in North America, featuring a combination of a 1.3L I4 main gasoline engine and electric motors. This created a combined output of 93 hp and EPA fuel mileage estimates of 46 mpg city and 51 mpg highway with the manual transmission.
