Honda Civic Si Sedan Concept

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. is introducing the Civic Si Sedan Concept at the 2006 Chicago Auto Show. This concept car preview hints at the stunning styling and performance of the upcoming production version of the Civic Si Sedan, which will be available this fall and bring "Si" performance to the Civic lineup for the first time. The 197-horsepower, 16-valve, DOHC i-VTEC engine of the Civic Si Sedan will be mated to a close-ratio, 6-speed manual transmission and feature a limited slip differential for improved traction and cornering performance. It will also boast custom 18-inch cast aluminum alloy wheels, 225/40ZR18 high-performance tires, and 4-wheel disc brakes with large cross-drilled brake rotors and 4-piston Brembo calipers. "The Civic Si Sedan Concept shows how the high-performance attributes of the Civic Si Coupe can be successfully applied to the usefulness of a sedan," said John Mendel, senior vice president of American Honda. This fall, enthusiasts seeking both performance and value will be able to find these features in the production versions of both the Civic Si Coupe and Civic Si Sedan. The Civic Si first made its appearance in 1986 and has since been re-imagined in 1989, 1992, 1999, and 2002.
