Honda Element Concept 2003 posters

Honda Element Concept

The Honda Element is a crossover SUV manufactured by Honda and released in the United States, Canada and Japan in 2003. It is based on the CR-V but its dimensions are significantly different. It is a foot shorter, with a smaller wheelbase, higher roofline, narrower front track, and lower floor. It was designed to compete against entry-level SUVs and crossover hatchbacks. Powering the Element is Honda's 2.4 L K24A4 i-VTEC four-cylinder engine, producing 156 hp at 5500 rpm and 160 lb-ft of torque at 4500 rpm. The vehicle rides on a modified CR-V chassis, with no visible B-pillars and reinforced joints, side sills, crossmembers, rocker panels, and five bulkheads per side. It is available with front-wheel drive or Honda's optional Real Time™ four-wheel drive system, which operates only when front wheel slippage occurs. The Element concept vehicle (Model X) was introduced in 2001 and was designed for cross-country road trips and carrying surfboards, mountain bikes, snowboards, and other such items. It was created by a group of R&D engineers in 1998. The 4-seat Element is easy to clean and its fabric is tough and stain-resistant. It has reclining, foldable, and removable rear seats, and a large clamshell tailgate. Its rear suicide doors open backward, providing unobstructed access for side loading. 2003Original MSRP range: US$16,100-$20,850 Colors available: Sunset Orange Pearl, Shoreline Mist Metallic, Satin Silver Metallic, Nighthawk Black Pearl, Galapagos Green Metallic, and Eternal Blue Pearl The 2003 Element was launched with two trim levels - DX and EX. A service bulletin was released regarding the windshield flange surface being uneven and the warranty obligated Honda of America to replace the windshield at no cost to the owner. Four-wheel drive models come with a large rear sunroof.
