Honda FCX Clarity

At the Los Angeles Auto Show, Honda unveiled the FCX Clarity fuel cell vehicle and announced plans to start limited retail marketing of the electric car in summer 2008. This zero-emissions car is based on the Honda V Flow fuel cell platform, utilizing a highly compact, efficient, and powerful Honda V Flow fuel cell stack. The vehicle has been designed with improved driving range, power, weight, and efficiency, as well as a low-slung, dynamic, and sophisticated appearance, achieving great progress in the performance and appeal of hydrogen-powered fuel cell cars. Tetsuo Iwamura, president and CEO of American Honda, remarked that β€œThe FCX Clarity is a shining symbol of the progress we've made with fuel cell vehicles and of our belief in the promise of this technology." American Honda aims to lease the FCX Clarity to a limited number of retail consumers in Southern California, delivering the cars in summer 2008. The three-year lease program will cost $600 per month and includes maintenance and collision insurance, providing customers with convenience and quality service. When needed, maintenance will be conducted at fuel cell service facilities located in the greater Los Angeles area.
