Honda Fit EV Concept 2010 posters

Honda Fit EV Concept

The Honda Fit EV Concept is designed for the typical metropolitan commuter, using the familiar 5-passenger layout of the popular Fit hatchback. When the production model of the Honda Fit EV is launched, it will be outfitted with a lithium-ion battery and a high-efficiency, quiet coaxial electric motor. The motor, derived from the FCX Clarity fuel cell electric vehicle, will allow the vehicle to reach a maximum speed of 90 mph and will provide an estimated 100-mile range of per charge as tested in the US EPA LA4 city cycle (70 miles when adjusted for EPA criteria). To maximize efficiency, the Honda Fit EV will come with an innovative 3-mode electric drive system, taken from the 2011 Honda CR-Z sport hybrid. Drivers will be able to select between Econ, Normal, and Sports modes that will change the response of the car to either enhance battery range or increase acceleration, depending on the needs of the driver. Econ mode can increase battery range by up to 17 percent whilst Sport mode can increase acceleration to a level similar to a 2.0-liter gasoline engine. In addition to the 3-mode E-Drive system, the Honda Fit EV will also feature interactive coaching systems to further guide drivers in maximizing the vehicle's range.
