Honda Fit Sport

The Honda Fit, known as the Jazz in Europe, some parts of Asia, Oceania, the Middle East, and Africa and the Fit in Japan, China, and both North and South America, is a five-door hatchback automobile produced by Honda of Japan. Its global popularity has been on the rise since its initial debut in June 2001, eventually making its way to Europe in early 2002, Australia at the end of 2002, South America in early 2003, South-East Asia in mid-2003, China in mid-2004, and Mexico near the end of 2005. The production model for the Canadian and United States markets first appeared on January 8, 2006, during the Detroit International Auto Show – officially released in Canada on April 3, and in the US on April 20.

Drivetrain

The Fit utilizes the Honda L-series engine family. Depending on the region, it is equipped with a 1.2 or 1.3 liter i-DSI engine, or a 1.5-liter VTEC engine. For the i-DSI engines, they boast an 8-valve configuration with two spark plugs per cylinder, helping to provide more efficient fuel and emission reduction, as well as increased torque. The VTEC engine has the usual 16 valves. Both engines may be mated to either a 5-speed manual, 5-speed automatic, or Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). The CVT features two forms, the regular, and the CVT-7, which comes with seven computer-controlled "gears" operated by paddle shifters.
