Honda Insight Concept 2008 posters

Honda Insight Concept

At the 2008 Paris Auto Show, the world got its first full view of the Honda Insight Concept model which shows the design direction that the new dedicated hybrid model will take. Honda has always intended Hybrid vehicles to bridge towards a hydrogen powered future, which has already been proven with the leasing of the Honda FCX Clarity. The Honda Insight Concept is designed to maximize its aerodynamic efficiency and consequently reduce fuel consumption; its styling will be the basis of the production version to be released in 2009. Honda has improved its processes to make production faster and more efficient, allowing them to offer better cost savings. These savings are made possible by the updated version of their IMA system which combines an electric motor with a refined, low emission petrol engine, connected to a CVT gearbox. The Honda Insight will offer similar CO2 emissions and fuel economy to the Honda Civic Hybrid, while offering more passenger space, luggage capacity, and CO2 savings. The new Hyundai will form a part of Honda's hybrid strategy aiming to make hybrids more accessible and attractive to a range of customers. Honda will also produce a hybrid version of the Honda CR-Z show car and the Honda Jazz. The Honda Insight production vehicle will become available in Europe, Japan, and North America in the first half of 2009.
