Honda N600

In 1969, the technologically advanced Honda N600 was released. The all alloy engine could reach up to 9,000 rpm, producing between 36 to 45 horsepower (27 to 34 kW). With a weight of approximately 550 kg (1,100 lbs) and compact dimensions, the N600 had the capability to reach a top speed of 81 mph (130 km/h). This impressive speed was aided by the use of some plastic parts which were light enough to support the vehicle and its powerful engine. However, the first brakes were considered to be too weak. Rear suspension of the N600 was constructed with a torsion bar and leaf spring system. Eventually, production ceased in 1972 with the sportier Honda Z600 (or Z-Act in different countries) taking the N600's place. This article is licensed under the GNU Free Documentation License.
