Honda NSX

The Honda NSX (Acura NSX in North America and Hong Kong) is a sports car produced by the Japanese automaker Honda. It has a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive layout, constructed with an all-aluminium body and chassis, and is powered by a V6 engine (the C32B). The engine produces 290 bhp and 224 ft·lbf of torque. It has since earned the moniker "New Sports eXperimental". The car was designed with the input of Ayrton Senna and when it was first released in 1990, it was way ahead of its time. It was the first of its kind for a Japanese automaker to develop an exotic car alongside traditional European producers as well as the Chevrolet Corvette. Its specs and style were meant to showcase Honda's own racing technology, personified in its titanium connecting rods. Wheels magazine Australia awarded the Honda NSX the 1991 Car of the Year award and after its production stopped in 2005, 15 years after it was built, it remains a popular and celebrated car among fans and supporters, some claiming it is a supercar. Despite its age, the honda NSX had the highest per-litre specific output of any naturally aspirated V6 in the world. On July 20, 2005, days after the announcement of the end of production of the original NSX, Honda CEO Takeo Fukui stated that a new Honda NSX was in the works and would feature a V10 engine inspired by Formula 1 motors, most likely with an SH-AWD (Super Handling All Wheel Drive) system, ready within three to four years.
