Honda NSX

The Honda NSX (Acura NSX in North America and Hong Kong) is a sports car which was produced by the Japanese automaker Honda. This car was known for its mid-engine, rear-wheel drive layout, its all-aluminium body and chassis, and a V6 engine (the C32B) that produces 216 kW (290 bhp) and 304 N·m (224 ft·lbf) of torque. NSX stands for "New Sports eXperimental".

The Honda NSX was first released in 1990, showcasing Honda's racing technology. This car was designed with the help of Ayrton Senna, earning it the 1991 Wheels Magazine Australia Car of the Year award. Though the NSX now has some age to it, it still has a strong base of fans and supporters.

At its launch, the Honda NSX was considered to be far ahead of its time, and intended to compete with the manufacturers of traditional European exotic cars as well as the Chevrolet Corvette. Its per-litre specific output made it one of the most powerful road-going naturally aspirated V6s at the time. Honda ended production of the NSX in 2005.

On July 20, 2005, just after the announcement of the closure of current NSX production, Honda CEO Takeo Fukui revealed that a new NSX was in the works and would have a Formula 1-inspired V10 motor, as well as the SH-AWD (Super Handling All Wheel Drive) system from the Acura RL. Fukui estimated that the car would be ready within three to four years.
