The Honda Odyssey is a vehicle manufactured by Honda and is distributed as a minivan in North America. It was introduced in 1995 and was the first minivan to feature a flat-folding third row seat. Its base model, the LX, could fit seven people with two front buckets, a three-seat middle bench, and a 2-seat third row bench; the EX model came with two second row captain's chairs. Both vehicles are also sold in Japan, albeit under different names - Odyssey and Lagreat, respectively.
Despite its larger size compared to its predecessor, the Odyssey was met with mixed reactions; while some praised its added power and performance, many pointed out issues with the 4-speed and 5-speed automatic transmissions as well as road noise and rattles. Additionally, it was noted for its expensive power door failures and dealer markups. Nonetheless, the Odyssey was named Wheels magazine's Car of the Year for 1995.
