Honda Odyssey L Type Japanese Version 2004 posters

Honda Odyssey L Type [JP]

The third generation of the well-known Odyssey went on sale in Japan in late 2003 and in many other countries, including Australia, in 2004. This redesign brought about a much sleeker, lower and more car-like appearance, while maintaining a 5-door body style. For the first time, the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) Odyssey got cruise-control and a new DPS system for the 4WD version. The seat folding mechanism was modified and the height of the vehicle decreased in order to facilitate multi-level parking, mainly in Japan. Powering the Odyssey is the Honda K24A i-VTEC engine, a 2.4 L unit producing 160 hp (119 kW); which is the same engine used in CR-V and Accord. The 2WD version is available with a continuously variable transmission, while the 4WD version only comes with an automatic transmission - the Absolute, JDB S/B, or export models are exceptions. The previous V6 engine was removed completely. Instead, a sporty Absolute version adopted a 200 hp (149 kW) variant of the K24A engine, with 190 hp (142 kW) for the 4WD version, that have the same fuel consumption as the 2.2 engine. Thanks to all these enhancements, the new Odyssey became a resounding success. In Australia, the Odyssey achieved its best-ever sales year in 2005, outselling the Toyota Tarago for the first time.
