Showcasing a sleeker front-end design, improved interior features and increased fuel economy, the 2012 Honda Pilot eight-passenger SUV has been designed with both style and practicality in mind. The three-bar chrome-style grille and reconfigured multi-reflector halogen headlights and turn signals combine to create a more sophisticated and efficient crossover SUV appearance. Inside, the instrument panel receives a refinement and an intuitive button layout has been used for ease of use. Audio system upgrades on Pilot EX and EX-L models include a 2 GB CD-Library (CD-L) and Bluetooth® Audio Streaming as well as Bluetooth HandsFreeLink® for those trim levels.
The 2012 Pilot EX-L model is equipped with a full-color 8-inch intelligent Multi-Information Display (i-MID) for audio and vehicle information. Models with the available Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System receive subscription-free FM Traffic, 15 GB audio hard disk drive memory (HDD), and a higher-resolution display. The 250 horsepower i-VTEC V-6 engine includes measures to reduce friction and improve efficiency to help it achieve a fuel economy rated at 25 mpg on two-wheel-drive models, a 2 mpg increase compared to 2011 models.

The 2012 Honda Pilot has a new grille and front fascia which replaces the 2011 model's six-sided grille insert with a three-bar horizontal design. A new front air dam, optimized strakes and all-new five-spoke, 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels (1-inch larger than the previous model) combine to create a stylish look and reduce frontal area and air turbulence, resulting in improved fuel efficiency. Pilot LX models are equipped with 17-inch styled-steel wheels.
