The 2009 Honda Ridgeline has been given a total of 50 significant changes and new features, providing a bolder look and feel with updated exterior and interior styling. Standard on every model is a trailer hitch, with newly-introduced premium features such as Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink® and rearview backup camera optional on Honda Ridgeline RTL models with the Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System. The Ridgeline is also the only pickup truck to feature the spacious In-Bed Trunk™ offering hidden, dry, and secure storage for luggage, tool boxes, and coolers.
Front and rear styling updates combine to create a chiseled overall look with changes to the grille, bumpers, and headlight and taillight color combinations. Inside the cabin, three-dimensional-style meters, a new steering wheel design, and improved controls, buttons, and displays for the air conditioning, audio system, cruise control, and headlights have been added. Keeping up with technology, a 115-volt power outlet is available on the Honda Ridgeline RTL, MP3/auxiliary input jack on the Honda Ridgeline RTS and RTL, and all audio systems are compatible with MP3/WMA. For enhanced safety features, the Ridgeline now offers active front seat head restraints and daytime running lights. The composite cargo bed, which is able to hold 4-foot-wide sheets of plywood, also gets two additional cargo tie-down points (for a total of eight).
