Honda S2000

The Honda S2000 is a roadster manufactured by Honda Motor Company since April 1999, created to commemorate the company's 50th anniversary. It belongs to a long line of S cars, such as the S600 and S800, taking its name from its 2000 cc engine. From 1999 to 2003, the S2000 was built in Honda's Tochigi plant, followed by the Suzuka plant from 2003 to the present day. Design and Construction Following in line with its inaugural models, the S2000 has a rear wheel drive, with power managed through a Torsen limited slip differential and a 6-speed manual transmission. It is also backed by an X-bone monocoque frame for improved driving, road noise, steering feeling, and feedback. It has a double-wishbone suspension, electronically-assisted steering, integrated roll hoops, and an electrically powered canvas top that takes 6 seconds to open - the fastest among all convertibles. Models Upon its launch in 1999 as a 2000 model, the S2000 featured 16" wheels with Bridgestone Potenza S-02 tyres. With revised rear spring rates and dampers in 2001 and a suspension overhaul in 2002, the following years saw several tweaks and adjustments in the car's features, including the introduction of 17" wheels with Bridgestone RE-050 tires in 2004, a 2.2 L engine for North America in the same year, and cosmetic changes such as new bumpers, revised headlight assemblies, new LED tail-lights, and oval-tipped exhausts.
