Honda Small Hybrid Sports Concept

Honda has revealed the Honda Small Hybrid Sports Concept - a design study model that blends advanced environmental technology, eye-catching styling and agile performance. Created by the design studio at Honda R&D Europe in Offenbach, Germany, the concept reveals how a hybrid model of the future could look. The Small Hybrid Sports Concept is based on a front-wheel drive, small car architecture and is powered by a Honda IMA 4-cylinder petrol/electric hybrid system and CVT transmission. Its design has been created to show that a low environmental impact car is not a compromise, with all the driving enjoyment expected of a compact sports car being on its agenda. The exterior of the model features curvaceous and contoured surfaces mixed with sharp ‘folded’ edges, while the car’s nose and wheel arches are in line with the Civic family. It has a steeply raked windscreen which extends over the occupants' head and merges into a one-piece glass roof, giving the car a fastback styling. The car is further adorned with a 3D floating glass design which features an illuminated 'Small Hybrid Sports' name plate at its base. It is 4000mm long, 1270mm tall and 1760mm wide, with a wheelbase of 2350mm, and is mounted to 20-inch rims, with low rolling resistance 165/60 section tyres. A further compact external dimension ensures a nimble and agile performance on the road, coupled with rear-facing digital cameras taking the place of conventional door mirrors.
