Hummer H1 10th Anniversary Edition

The Hummer H1, based on the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), popularly known as the Humvee, was originally released in the civilian market in 1992. Thanks to photos from Operation Desert Storm and actor Arnold Schwarzenegger's enthusiastic campaigning, the H1 quickly gained popularity.

History

In 2006, General Motors (GM) announced that the model year 2006 would be the last of the Hummer H1 due to upcoming emissions laws that the vehicle would not meet. This decision resulted in no version of the H1 being produced for the mass market; however, AM General still produces H1s for Fleet sales to avoid the new emission rules and regulations, with orders totaling up to 50,000 new HMMWVs between 2006-2009.

Specifications

The Hummer H1 includes three common variants: a convertible-like soft top, a four-door hard top pickup truck and a Wagon body version. Other less known options include a two-door pickup truck and a four-door slantback. While the former two are available only through Fleet sales, the non-limited edition of the soft top and wagon versions are still available in the mass market.
