Hummer H2 SUT Concept

The Hummer H2 SUT is a pickup truck derived from the Hummer H2, which was marketed by Hummer and built by AM General from 2002 to 2009. It is a large truck, slimmer than the H1, yet longer, lighter, and taller, seating up to seven passengers including driver. The SUT has an extendable 6-foot box for hauling cargo. Produced at a dedicated plant in Mishawaka, Indiana, the H2 SUT is constructed of three sections; a modified GM 2500-Series utility frame for the front, a boxed midsection, and a modified GM 1500-Series frame for the rear. The vehicle was nominated for the 2003 North American Truck of the Year award, and a special 2009 Black Chrome Limited Edition was released. It is often used in off-roading events like the Baja 1000, where Rod Hall Racing has won several times in both the H2 and H3 models. Due to its wide track, the H2 may offer greater stability than many other light truck SUVs. However, no comprehensive tests have been conducted yet. GM marketed it as an all-purpose vehicle and it is mostly used as a passenger car on normal roads. It has become a popular choice for limousine conversions, along with the Ford Excursion.
