Hummer H2H Hydrogen Concept

The Hummer H2 is an SUV and SUT (sport utility truck) that was manufactured and marketed by Hummer and built by AM General from 2002 to 2009. It is a large truck with a slimmer design than the Hummer H1. The H2 is longer, lighter, and taller, thus providing enough room for up to six or seven passengers including the driver. As for the rear part of the vehicle, it was modified to a pickup truck bed for the 2005 H2 SUT. Unlike its counterparts, the H2 sports the words "HUMMER" emblazoned between the grille. The H2 SUT features an extendable box allowing it to haul the same cargo most other trucks can. AM General set up a special plant in Mishawaka, Indiana, USA specifically for building the H2. It was made from three sections: the front which uses a modified GM utility frame, the midsection being completely boxed, and the rear section consisting of a modified GM frame that was strengthened to prioritize for an 8,600 pounds (3,900 kg) gross vehicle weight. In 2003, the H2 was nominated for the North American Truck of the Year award. It was followed by the release of a special 2009 Black Chrome Limited Edition version. Additionally, Hummer saw success with Rod Hall racing as they won several class titles with the H2 in the Baja 1000. The H2 has a wider than average track firm that provides stability on even the most treacherous of terrains. However, since the vehicle falls under a specialized class of vehicles, objective tests have not been performed by the government or other external bodies. Despite its primary use on roads, GM marketed the H2 as a multipurpose vehicle. Along with the Ford Excursion, the H2 is also a popular choice for limousine conversions.
