Hyundai Avante
The all-new Hyundai Avante - badged as the Elantra in markets outside Korea - was revealed to the world at the 2010 Busan International Motor Show. Steve S. Yang, President & CEO of Hyundai's Global Business Division, declared it "will once again redefine the compact segment worldwide". Sporting sportier and even more elegant lines than its predecessor, it features Hyundai's latest 1.6L Gamma Gasoline Direct Injection engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission as well as other enhancements for improved fuel efficiency. Its advanced features such as HID (High Intensity Discharge) headlamps, LED combination lamps in the rear, heated rear seats, puddle lamps and a color TFT LCD information display will no doubt delight and surprise. Since its launch in 1990, the Avante/Elantra has sold over 6 million units worldwide, with further sales expected in the second half of 2010 in Korea. On display at a separate commercial vehicle booth were a hydrogen fuel-cell electric bus and a Universe Limousine luxury coach.
