Hyundai Curb Concept 2011 posters

Hyundai Curb Concept

The Hyundai California Design Center and Hyundai Motor America presented the Hyundai Curb Concept vehicle to the world during a press conference at the 2011 Detroit International Auto Show. This compact Urban Activity Vehicle (UAV) is designed for the next generation of Hyundai buyers. It is also intended to be a test bed for future Hyundai Blue Link™ and vehicle connectivity technology advancements. POTHOLES AND NIGHTCLUBS Hyundai designed the Curb Concept to evolve their "Fluidic Sculpture" design language, intending to create a technologically equipped vehicle with urban toughness to withstand potholes, nightclubs, and other common urban environmental challenges. To achieve this, "technology rugged" design direction was adapted, blending armored protection with a stylish look. "We wanted the Curb to be urban tough without looking like a Brink's truck," according to Hyundai designer Jason Brown. "It needed to empower its passengers in the city driving setting." EXTERIOR DESIGN The Hyundai Curb Concept's exterior starts with a glass design that spills into the hood and wraps around the cowl, resembling the face shield of a sport bike motorcycle helmet. Structural trusses are sealed beneath the glass panels for extra protection.
