Hyundai Genesis Coupe Concept
Hyundai recently unveiled their Concept Genesis Coupe at the 2007 Los Angeles International Auto Show. This 2+2 sports coupe is planned to join the Hyundai lineup in 2009. Its Sonic Orange exterior is complemented by Ballistic Black carbon fiber details for a reduced weight. Inspired by the HCD9 Talus and the HCD8 sports tourer, the Genesis Coupe features "Z" bodylines and curves to make a powerful statement. When released, it is expected to be the most affordable 300+ horsepower car available on the market.
DESIGN PROCESS
At the Hyundai Design Center in Irvine, the mission for Concept Genesis Coupe was to design a performance car with elegance. According to chief designer Joel Piaskowski, the look of the Coupe is aggressive from any angle. The beltline from the Talus and the body forms from the HCD8 sports tourer both inspired the Genesis Coupe. Additionally, its captivating headlight and taillight designs make this car stand out.
