Hyundai Genesis Coupe

Hyundai recently announced the arrival of the Genesis Coupe, a 300-horsepower sport coupe, at the New York International Auto Show. Available in the spring of 2009, the Genesis Coupe is Hyundai's most dynamic performance car ever and the second all-new model directed at car enthusiasts. It utilizes the same rear-wheel drive architecture found in the Genesis sport sedan, and comes with two performance-focused engines - a 212-horsepower, 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and a 306-horsepower, DOHC 3.8-liter V6. "The entry-level 2.0t provides an interesting alternative to existing front-wheel drive sport coupes," said John Krafcik, vice president of product development and strategic planning for Hyundai Motor America. "The performance of the 3.8-liter version rivals the capability of premium-performance coupes such as the Infiniti G37." DESIGN PROCESS The Genesis Coupe made its debut as a concept at the 2007 Los Angeles Auto Show, and its production version features many of the same design elements. From power to appearance, the 2010 Genesis Coupe is a purpose-built rear-wheel drive sport coupe that provides a unique combination of power and distinctive style.
