Hyundai QarmaQ Concept

At the Geneva International Motor Show, Hyundai Motor Co. and GE Plastics presented the Hyundai QarmaQ, a pioneering concept car in the Crossover Coupe segment. This Advanced Technology Demonstration Vehicle (ATDV) offers an array of environmentally progressive technologies featuring Hyundai's innovative "Elastic Front™", designed to reduce the risk of serious injuries to pedestrians in Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV) collisions. The Hyundai QarmaQ was conceived at the company's Design and Technical Center in Russelsheim, then engineered in collaboration with GE Plastics. This vehicle brings together over 30 key technologies that Hyundai will introduce into its models between 2008-2014. "At Hyundai," affirmed Dr. Kwon Moon-Shik, the company's vice president of advanced technology, "we prioritize innovation for humanity, as QarmaQ demonstrates. We look to foster a safe and eco-friendly driving experience for our customers, achieving those standards by partnering with GE Plastics and using their material innovations and technical acumen." The QarmaQ's lighter, stronger and more economical design presents a realistic vision of the potential for personal transport. What's more, its recyclability also benefits both its construction and eventual disassembly.
