Hyundai ix-onic Concept

Introducing a whole new look for Hyundai's compact SUVs, the Hyundai ix-onic Concept makes its world premiere at the 79th Salon International de L'Automobile on March 3rd, 2009. Constructed of dynamic styling and an efficient power train, ix-onic offers thoughtful everyday utility and impressive fuel efficiency, creating an entirely different crossover experience in comparison to what consumers are used to. Designed by the team in Rüsselsheim, Germany with European drivers in mind, ix-onic offers an imposing stance and presence on the road, despite having measurements of 4,400mm in length, 1,850mm width and 1,650mm height - making it much smaller than other SUVs. Highlighting the 'dynamic sculpture' design philosophy, the ix-onic Concept exhibits athleticism and sophistication through its flowing lines. Special high-contrast paint brings out a brilliant shine and the hexagonal grille is in the style of the Genus concept car, and later, the Hyundai i-mode concept, in 2008. The headlights feature innovative LED daytime running lights which move down electrically whenever the 'dipped beam' is switched on.
