Infiniti M45

2003

The 2003 M45 was heavily based on the Y34-series Nissan Gloria/Nissan Cedric, featuring styling reminiscent of the Gloria. This model was equipped with Nissan's reliable 340 horsepower VK45DE V8, delivering 333 ft.lbf of torque. Despite its striking Japanese styling, the M45 was not a popular model in the US and sold in low numbers.

2006

Infiniti released a revised M45 in 2006, designed to compete in the mid-size sport luxury segment against top names like the BMW 5-Series and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Its VQ-series 3.5 L V6 engine on the M35 model delivered 280 horsepower (208 kW), while the Q45's 4.5 L V8 generates an impressive 335 hp (249 kW) for the M45. These stats allowed it to rank at the top of its class, with both the M35 and M45 achieving 0-60 times of 6.3 and 5.4 seconds respectively.

The M45 has had wide-ranging appeal when compared to its competitors. Despite being smaller in size outside, the M45 has more room inside and is classified as a large by the EPA. The car also features a superior multilink front suspension and comfortable ergonomics, which prove to be a challenge for the Q45 flagship. In addition, the M35x comes with an ATTESA-ETS all-wheel-drive system that sends all power to the rear wheels when traction slip is detected.

Since its launch in February 2005 - coincidentally same time as the new 2006 Lexus GS - the M45 models have seen an overwhelming response from the market. With prices in the US (USD) between 40,000 and 55,000, the M45 offers a great value for money.
