Infiniti Q45
The Infiniti Q45 is a fullsize luxury car that serves as the flagship of the Nissan's Infiniti marque. It is powered by a V8 engine and comes with rear wheel drive luxury sedan. Previously, the Q45 was based on the Japanese-market Nissan President, but new models are based on the Nissan Cima. This car is often compared to the Lexus LS, Cadillac DTS, Lincoln Town Car and Mercedes- Benz S-Class.
In 2002, the Q45 was completely redesigned, with a better performing 340 hp (253 kW) 4.5 L VK45DE V8 engine, gatling gun inspired HID headlights, and sharper styling. The car also features a 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. Despite positive reviews, sales have been low and only 1129 were sold in the United States in 2005.
At present, the Q45 has received praise from Car and Driver, Edmunds and Consumer Guide reviews. However, the low sales rate may be due to the lack of advertising and the debatable prestige of the Infiniti name.
In 2003, the car was given a few new features, including a security system, a numerically higher final drive ratio, reprogrammed TCU, and the satellite radio option. The CD player was then capable of one-time feed into the dash.
In the 2005 model year, the Q45 received upgrades that included new front and rear fascias, a redone hood and grille, a new headlight design, integrated fog lights, LED taillights, double-stitched contoured seats, white luminescent gauge markings, chrome accents, dark maple trim, recalibrated transmissions, and 17" alloy wheels. Standard features include all-leather interior, power sunroof, 8-way power front seat, remote keyless entry, rain-detecting wipers and side curtain airbags. The car also comes with a CD, 8 Bose speakers, trip computer, rear camera parking sensors, and a voice-activated navigation system.
The Q45 has a seating capacity of five and a base price of US$56,200.
