Infiniti Q45
The flagship of Nissan's Infiniti marque, the Infiniti Q45 is a full-size luxury car that features a rear wheel drive with a V8 engine. Its original form was based on the Japanese-market Nissan President, but later generations are based on the lower-end Cima. Rivals of the Q45 include the Lexus LS, Cadillac DTS, Lincoln Town Car and Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
For the 2002 model year, Infiniti gave the Q45 a complete redesign; new features included a 340 hp (253 kW) 4.5 L VK45DE V8 engine, gatling gun inspired HID headlights, and a sharper styling, as well as a 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. Despite good reviews, sales were poor.
The 2003 Q45 was further enhanced with many improvements, while the 2005 model got new front and rear fascias, modified hood and grille, newly designed trunk lid and headlights, interior updates, and recalibrated transmission. Standard features include all-leather interior, power sunroof, 8-way power front seats, remote keyless entry, rain-detecting wipers and side curtain airbags with CD Player, 8 Bose speakers, trip computer, rear camera parking system, and voice-activated navigation system.
The Q45 has a base price of US$56,200 and can seat up to five people. Reviews from Car and Driver, Edmunds and Consumer Guide have been primarily positive, with low sales attributed to lack of advertising and the debatable prestige of the Infiniti name.
