Italdesign Go Concept
Designed for the city, the Italdesign Go! and the sporty Tex could further expand Volkswagen's range of A0 segment products. It has the same wheelbase of Passat, measuring 2700 mm, with the addition of smaller overhangs, the Go! comes with a total length of 3990 mm. The battery pack is fitted underneath the front and rear seating positions, to create a vertical package, allowing it to have an equal weight distribution of 58% on the front and 42% on the rear.
Giorgetto Giugiaro explained, "This was an exercise for me to design a car with the maximum utilisation of its interiors. It began with the 1976 New York Taxi, until the completion of the 2010 Emas. It is less than 4 metres long, yet has more passenger room than a large SUV and a boot capacity of up to 525 litres, making it an ideal choice for city use."
The exterior design of the Go! is made characterised by extensive glass surfaces which stands against the current trend to create smaller windows. By letting in a lot of light to the passenger compartment and allowing its users to appreciate the cityscape with the glass roof, this design also offers the driver with good visibility while driving.
