Jaguar XJ75 Platinum Concept

To celebrate Jaguar's 75th anniversary, the Jaguar design team created the exclusive Jaguar XJ75 Platinum Concept, which was showcased in the 2010 Pebble Beach Concours D'Elegance Concept Car Lawn. It was the company's first chance to demonstrate the customisation potential of the new XJ luxury sedan. "The Jaguar XJ75 Platinum Concept is a fitting tribute to Jaguar's 75th Anniversary, and emphasizes the special features of the XJ, and more generally, the personal luxury cars in the market today," said Mike O'Driscoll, Managing Director of Jaguar Cars. "The XJ captures the innovation and daring spirit that our founder, Sir William Lyons, envisioned all Jaguars should have. The design team certainly enjoyed creating the concept." Highlighted in a white and black contrast theme that mirrors the appearance of precious platinum, the Jaguar XJ75 Platinum Concept is a 470-hp 2011 Jaguar XJL Supercharged modified with new front, rear, and side sills. The exterior has been painted Satin Matte Pearlescent White and the chrome elements have been reworked to a dark chrome or gloss black. The vehicle also features 22-inch wheels with a brushed contrast finish. The white and black colour scheme has been carried to the interior, with gloss pearlescent white air vents, veneers, and diamond stitch suede inserts to the seats plus headliner against a full Jet Softgrain leather background. The centre console houses a bespoke clock developed in partnership with the Bremont Watch Company, designed with British flair and carefully hand-assembled in Switzerland. "From a design point of view, the XJ75 Platinum Concept emphasises the proportion and presence of the new XJ, focused on a black and white theme that mirrors platinum," said Jaguar XJ Chief Designer Giles Taylor. "We chose to keep the car's classic look while giving the interior high-end materials and that British flair look. The concept shows our vision of customisation and individuality in luxury automobiles." The high performance of the Jaguar XJ75 Platinum Concept comes from its 5.0-litre Supercharged direct-injection V8 with 470 horsepower and 424 lb.-ft of torque. A 1,200-watt Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system with 20 speakers powered through 15 channels provides the sounds.
